Oreo Stuffed Chocolate Chip Cookies

Wait…what? That’s right. Chocolate chip cookies with oreos baked in the middle. You can wipe the drool off your desk now.

I saw the recipe for this on Picky Palate weeks ago and nearly had a heart attack from how genius it was. What sort of magic was this? Two of my favourite cookies mixed into one ball of amazing-ness? Too good to be true. But no, it’s very true and very good. Then I got thinking that peanut butter cookies are up there on my list of favourite cookies, so I thought hey, I already have 2 types of cookies, why not toss in a third kind? So I made half the batch with peanut butter smeared inside the oreos before covering them in cookie dough, and the other half with plain oreos and dough. You decide what you like best since the peanut butter is optional, so here goes!

Here’s what you need:

  • 2 sticks softened butter
  • 3/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbs. pure vanilla extract
  • 3 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 10 oz. bag of chocolate chips (I used milk chocolate)
  • 1 bag Oreo Cookies
  • 1/4 cup peanut butter (optional)

Method:

Preheat the oven to 350 degrees.

Take your bag of Oreos and seperate it into halves; set aside one half. For the other half, put a small amount of peanut butter inside each Oreo (careful not to break it!) like in the picture below.

With an electric mixer, beat together butter and both sugars until well combined. Add in eggs one by one, then blend in the vanilla extract.

In a seperate bowl, blend flour, salt and baking soda. Gradually mix in the wet mixture along with the chocolate chips until well combined with a “doughy” consistency. With a teaspoon, take a scoop on dough and place it on top of one Oreo cookie. Take another same-sized scoop and place in on the bottom of the cookies. Seal edges by lightly pressing and cupping in hand until the Oreo is no longer visible.

Place dough-covered Oreos on a parchment paper covered baking sheet. Bake cookies for roughly 8-10 minutes depending on how soft you like them to be. Let cool for a few minutes then dig in! These are great for parties and birthdays, and they won’t last long guarenteed.

How many cookies does this make??

    1. This made about 25 cookies, depends on how much dough you use for each one but it should be around there!
