Microwave potato chips are an easy and guilt-free treat.
Make your own potato chips using your microwave. A tasty, easy low calorie alternative to the store bought chips. I came up with this recipe when I was craving for potato chips. But didn’t want to eat store bought fried potato chips, because who wants to gain those extra pounds before a beach vacation?
I wanted them healthy, super quick & instantly. So, I decided to slice potatoes, add salt, a dash of olive oil, smoked paprika powder and tossed them in the microwave. Voila! I had my guilt-free potato chips ready in no time.
If you too love good potato chips, then you gotta try this ridiculously easy recipe. No deep fryer is needed to make these crispy potato chips at home. Just a potato and a microwave is all you need to have homemade chips. And since you aren’t messing with a fryer, they are so much healthier too.
These chips are much more suited to a snack for 2 people, than a big dinner party appetizer. If potato chips are normally off-limits to you, this snack certainly hits the spot when you want something crunchy and light.
Here’s how you can make it too:
Ingredients:
- 2 potato or any other root vegetable
- Salt
- 1/4 tsp Smoked paprika
- 1/4 tsp lemon pepper
- Nando’s peri peri salt
- Olive Oil (optional
Method:
- Thinly slice potato on a mandoline. (1/8inch).
- Sprinkle with desired seasonings & olive oil.
- On a parchment paper arrange as many slices as will fit in a single layer on a dinner plate.
- Make sure the slices do not touch or else they stick together.
- Microwave the slices for 3-4 minutes until they are all crispy and golden.
- Transfer cooked chips to a bowl and repeat microwaving with the remaining slices of potato.
- Chips will stay crispy for a few days if kept in an airtight container or zip-lock bag.
