Low Calorie Irresistible German Marmorkuchen (Marble Cake)
Marmorkuchen (German marble cake) has been one of my favorite cakes while I was in Germany. This marble cake consists of delicious soft swirls of vanilla and chocolate cake. These are further covered with a crunchy roasted almond chocolate topping. Sounds yummy, doesnβt it? π
And it is only 124Kcal/ slice so you can enjoy it guilt-free.

Ingredients
The Cake
- 2 cup Wholemeal flour
- Β½ cup Brown sugar
- β cup Butter
- 3 Eggs
- 2 tsp Baking powder
- 2 tbsp Cocoa powder
- ΒΌ cup Skimmed milk or more as needed
- 1 tsp Vanilla
- 1 Pinch Salt
The Topping (optional)
- 75 g Dark chocolate melted
- ΒΌ cup Roasted almonds crushed
Instructions
Preparing the cake

Preheat oven to 200C. Gather your ingredients.

In a large bowl, cream the butter with the sugar.

Beat in the eggs and vanilla.

In a seperate bowl mix the flour, baking powder and salt. Beat the flour mixture into the creamed mixture

Add milk into the batter.

Beat until you get the desired consistancy.

Turn β the batter into a bowl. Stir in the cocoa powder using a rubber spatula. You might need to add more milk, if it is too dry.

Turn half of the plain cake batter into a greased bundt pan. Top with cocoa batter. Then pour the remaining plain batter. Swirl the batters together using a spoon.

Bake in the preheated oven for around 45 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean. Set aside to cool. Then invert on a wire rack till it completely cools.
Preparing the topping (optional)

Pour melted dark chocolate on the cake.

Sprinkle roasted crushed almonds on top.
