Spider Web Pretzel Snacks

These spider web pretzel snacks are sweet and salty and the perfect treat for any Halloween get-together. These easy treats feature a chocolate spider on a white chocolate background in the center with pretzel sticks radiating outward and drizzled with white chocolate to look like a spider web!

I have family and friends who love the gory, scary, downright gross side of Halloween, but I’ve always been more into the cute side of the holiday. I love to make adorable, sweet treats every year and bring them to our Halloween parties or just keep them on hand for visitors to enjoy. One of my favorite recipes to make is these spider web pretzel snacks. They’re sweet, salty, and so adorable! The best part is that they’re super easy to make which is always a plus!

Spider Web Pretzel Snacks

These sweet and salty spider web snacks start with melted white and dark chocolate chips. I make a chocolate spider, then I place pretzels in a radiating pattern with the ends in the center and pipe a big dollop of white chocolate to hold them together. I place the chocolate spider on top and then pipe more white chocolate in a circular pattern around the pretzels to make a web. That’s all there is to it! It’s an easy recipe that’s as adorable as it is delicious.

Snacks

Making this recipe is very simple. It only takes a few minutes and a few simple steps. Although it might seem daunting, this is actually a recipe that even beginners can easily make!

  1. Lay out parchment paper to create a workspace for making the spider web pretzel snacks.
  2. Melt the dark chocolate chips in a microwaveable bowl at 30-second intervals, stirring in between each interval until smooth.
  3. Transfer the chocolate to a piping bag or a Ziploc bag with a small hole cut in the corner.
  4. Pipe a small dot about the size of a dime on the parchment paper then four legs on both sides of the dot. Place the parchment paper with spiders on a paper plate and refrigerate until hardened.
  5. When the spiders are set, lay out 8 to 10 pretzel sticks in a circle with their ends meeting in the center.
  6. Melt the white chocolate in the same way as you did the dark chocolate, and transfer it to a piping bag or a Ziploc bag with a small hole cut in the corner.
  7. Pipe a large dollop of white chocolate in the center of the pretzels to keep them connected. Then, press a spider into the center.
  8. Pipe white chocolate in long, circular drizzles around the white chocolate center to create a spider web. Top with sprinkles, let harden, and enjoy!

FAQ

Why didn’t my spider web pretzel snacks hold together?

If you don’t use enough white chocolate in the center of your snacks, there won’t be enough to hold the pretzels together. Make a nice, big dollop in the center!

How can I make my spider web chocolate more even?

Pipe your spider webs with drizzle that’s on the thick side so it maintains its shape as you pipe it.

Why is it so hard to make the chocolate spiders?

Those can be a bit tricky. Your best bet is to use piping bags instead of Ziploc bags. They offer more control.

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup dark chocolate chips, semisweet or milk chocolate
  • 1 cup white chocolate chips or white candy melts
  • 4 cups pretzel sticks
  • assorted Halloween sprinkles

Instructions

  1. 1.Prep your work area by laying out a few strips of parchment paper.

    2. Transfer the dark chocolate to a microwave safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds at a time. Stir well between increments until smooth. Transfer the melted chocolate to a piping bag or a Ziploc with a small hole cut in the end.

    3. To make the spiders: Pipe a small dot about the size of a dime and then four legs on both sides of the dot. Allow to set by placing the parchment with the spiders on a plate or cutting board and placing in the fridge or freezer to expedite the chocolate hardening.

    4. Once the spiders are set, you can create the webs. Lay out approximately 8-10 pretzel sticks in a circle, with the points all meeting in the center.

    5. Melt the white chocolate in a microwave safe bowl and heat for 30 seconds at a time. Stir well between increments until smooth. Transfer the melted white chocolate to a piping bag or a Ziploc with a small hole cut in the end.

    6. Pipe a large dollop of chocolate in the center of the pretzels to keep them all connected. Then pipe large circles around and around the pretzels until it resembles a spider web. Keep the white chocolate drizzle lines somewhat thick. (If they are too thin, they are easier to break.)

    7. Immediately top with a chocolate spider (carefully remove from the parchment as to not break off any legs) and a few sprinkles.

    8. Repeat this process with the remaining pretzels until the white chocolate is finished.

    9. Allow to set at room temperature for about 15 to 20 minutes or until the white chocolate has hardened. Enjoy!

**Storage: Spider web pretzels can be stored in an airtight container for up to 3 days or in the fridge up to a week.
