Cheesy Italian Chicken Pasta Bake

 My family loves this cheesy Italian chicken pasta bake recipe. It’s also great for any potluck dinner or for company. Enjoy this very special chicken dish!

 

Sometimes you come across a recipe that looks and sounds so good but then you look at the ingredients and think, do I really want to make this long and complicated recipe?

Well, I did see a similar recipe on the internet that looked so delicious.

There was no way I was going to start buying a bunch of ingredients for a new dish that I wasn’t sure my family would enjoy.

That got me thinking, shortcut!

Buying prepared sauce, saves so much time especially on busy weeknights. 

 I love shortcut recipes. If you have been here on my blog before, you know this. I seriously love shortcut recipes!

Cheesy Italian Chicken Pasta Bake

Yields: 4 servings

 

 

What you’ll need to make this delicious cheesy Italian chicken pasta bake…

 

Ingredients:

  • 1 jar marinara sauce, 28 ounces or there about
  • 1 large bag of egg noodles, or any noodle of choice
  • 2 to 3 large boneless, skinless, chicken cutlets
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon each salt and pepper or use seasoned salt
  • 2 cups part skim mozzarella cheese
  • 1 stem each of thyme and rosemary or use about one teaspoon Italian seasoning blend
  • parsley or leftover herbs to sprinkle on top for garnish

Here’s how to make this easy, simple and delectable meal…


Directions:

  1. Cut chicken breast into strips or tenders size.
  2. Heat nonstick skillet to medium high heat. Add oil.
  3. Sprinkle salt and pepper or seasoned salt on the chicken and add to heated skillet.
  4. While chicken is cooking, began to cook noodles according to the package directions.
  5. Once chicken is thoroughly cooked, removed and set aside.
  6. Now, drain the noodles and add to a large mixing bowl. Stir in marinara sauce.
  7. Add noodles and sauce mix to a 13 x 9 baking dish.
  8. If using fresh rosemary and thyme, remove the stems and mince both. Or, use the Italian seasoning blend and sprinkle over the chicken and pasta.
  9. Place chicken on top of pasta. 
  10. Sprinkle rosemary and thyme over chicken and pasta.
  11. Sprinkle cheese over top and bake for 35 minutes at 375 degrees.
  12. Remove from oven once golden brown.
