These Easter Chocolate Nests is such a pretty Easter decoration idea and a fun way to get the kinds involved and occupied this coming Easter weekend. And bonus is that you only need 2 ingredients to make them.

All you need is vermicelli or angel hair noodles or pasta – you want the thinnest pasta or noodles you can find (you get an Indian vermicelli which is super thin and perfect for this recipe) and some melted chocolate. For the chocolate go the cheapest route – the noodles don’t get cooked before using so you won’t be eating it.

It is a bit of a messy business but I think so worth it. Break the pasta/noodles into pieces – not too short, I would suggest 5cm at least and place in a large bowl. Melt the chocolate in the microwave and pour over the dried noodles. Gently toss the noodles and chocolate until coated. Use 2 – 3 small bowls and press the mixture along the sides to form a “nest”. I find a smaller bowl with a higher rim makes a better nest. A larger bowl will make a flat nest. It’s pretty easy to take the noodles out and place in another bowl so don’t stress if the first bowl doesn’t work and you have to take the mixture out and use another bowl. Once you are happy with shape just place it in the fridge for a few hours until the chocolate has set. Remove from the bowls and fill with all kinds of treats. I found that about 100g of vermicelli pasta and 80g of chocolate will yield 2 – 3 small nests depending on the size of the bowls. Have fun!
